Bagnaia's fury: "I know what happened, and I'm not happy." Tardozzi: "It's our fault."

Bagnaia had a tough prequalifying session , finishing 13th in Q1 to fight for pole position in Q2 this weekend in Brno, the Czech Republic . After a strong FP1 , where he finished third, Friday's second session was delayed due to a downpour that hit the circuit. The riders therefore started on wet rain tires, switching to slicks towards the end as the track was drying. This was where the outcome of the session was decided by tire choice. Bagnaia left the pits on soft tires and was unable to improve his time, finishing 13th. Upon returning, the furious Turin native let loose an angry gesture, throwing his gloves against the wall. In interviews, he made no secret of his anger at the team, guilty of not listening to him when choosing tires. Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi explained: "We made the wrong choice of rear tire: Pecco wanted the medium, but we went with the soft. Then the track dried out, and those on the medium tire improved. We take responsibility for 13th place."
Bagnaia had never looked so angry when he appeared before Sky Sport cameras for the post-session interviews. The 13th fastest time, of course, doesn't satisfy the Turin native, who has struggled this year, but it was the team's decisions that bothered him the most. "It was a positive day until we made a mistake in our strategy. That's enough, I'm out of the top ten. I know what happened and I'm not happy," he replied bluntly to the first question. Then he let off steam: "This morning I was strong in the dry, and I was able to do well in the wet. But then we lost too much time in the garage, and that doesn't help. We're already always on the edge of getting into the top ten, but if we make things even more difficult for ourselves, I get even more upset. It's a complicated period, and making things difficult for yourself isn't the best thing." Tomorrow, his qualifying will begin before the top drivers, as he'll have to go through Q1, but the weather will once again be unpredictable: "I hope it's dry tomorrow. The goal for tomorrow morning will be to try a couple of things in free practice to understand how to exploit the grip. The time attack will be crucial, because the potential is there, but getting into Q2 will be difficult."
